Gems & Junk/ Block party

Argenta's Neighborhood Boosters Annual Gems & Junk Sale is September 17th from 7am til 1pm. We are asking only for a $5.00 donation to Boosters for covering the cost of advertising. This year we are going to have a map of participants sales locations, once the ad is paid we will place you on the map. If neighbors want to get together for one large sale at an individual location their cost will still only be $5.00. As always, any proceeds from sales goes directly to the seller never to Boosters.
Please feel free to contact me @Bbnbragsdale@comcast.net or 376-1127 to submit your payment or for any questions.

Block Party committee has met & come up wth a unique idea this year. Instead of a block party we are going to have a  Food Drive and Chili Supper. The NLR Salvation Army Pantry is in dire need of supplies. Boosters feels, as a thrivng neighborhood we could step up and help them in their time of need. Dates & times are pending at this time, but we can tell you that it will be in October & hopefully partnered with First Pres. Church at 4th & Maple. As soon as we have all the details worked out you will be the first to know.
In 2012 we plan to have a blow out Block party!!

Call for Artists by Anne Russ

Where was God on the morning of September 11, 2001? To commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the September 11 attacks, First Presbyterian Church in downtown North Little Rock’s Argenta neighborhood will be hosting an art exhibit of paintings and drawings that depict where the artist believes God was on the morning of those attacks. We are accepting submissions through August 31. Submissions should include the work itself, contact information, a brief bio of the artist as well as a short description of the work. The artwork will be on display from September 9-September 25 at the church. Prizes will be awarded to the three pieces that best embody the theme. For more information, contact Rev. Anne Russ at revruss@gmail.com. First Presbyterian Church is located at 201 West Fourth Street (corner of Fourth and Maple) in Argenta.

Mac came home!

Wanted to let everyone know that Mac showed up on our doorstep late last night!! We want to thank the wonderful guys at Allied Printers that made the rescue posters for us, you are my heroes!
We believe that some nice person took Mac in, saw the posters & sent him home. He came back looking fabulous, well nourished & hydrated. If he had been cattin' around for the past 4 days he would have been scruffier.
Toeveryone who kept an eye out for him, for Allied Printing & for who ever set Mac free, we humbly thank you.
