Cool Rebates!!

Wanted to tell you about a NLR rebate program. If you have a maintenance contract on your heating and air the city of NLR will give you up to $100.00. I have one with Advantage so I am getting a $100.00 back!
If you buy a fridge, I was told by Sue Ponder that you can get $250.00 from city of NLR and an additional $275.00 from the state. It has to be an energy star and you have to recycle your old one. Pretty cool if anyone is thinking of replacing their fridge.

There is some other cool stuff so here’s the websites: NLRgreen.org,
the one for the state is ArkansasEnergy.org.

'SANDWICHING IN HISTORY' TOUR TO VISIT MELROSE PLACE ADDITION

The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program's next "Sandwiching in History" tour will visit the Melrose Place Addition in North Little Rock on November 5, AHPP Director Frances McSwain announced today.

Located in the northwest corner of the Argenta Historic District, the Melrose Place Addition was platted in 1924 by Twin City Bank. The bank constructed 53 small Craftsman bungalow houses in the addition between 1925 and 1929. These homes feature similar plans and were historically occupied by railroad employees. The Melrose Place Addition is the only deviation from the traditional street grid pattern in Argenta.

The tour will begin in front of 108 Melrose Circle and will include a tour of that house.

The "Sandwiching in History" tour series targets Pulaski County structures and sites. The noontime tours are held on Fridays and include a brief lecture and tour of the subject property. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunches with them.   The final 2010 "Sandwiching in History" tour, the Herschell-Spillman Carousel at the Little Rock Zoo, will be held December 3.  All tours are free and open to the public. For information, call the AHPP at (501) 324-9880, write the agency at 1500 Tower Building, 323 Center St., Little Rock, AR 72201, send an e-mail message to info@arkansaspreservation.org, or visit the agency web site at www.arkansaspreservation.org.

Postings

Sorry I haven't had much to report lately, there hasn't been much happening.  As items do come in I will post them. Couple of things I have noticed. The Argenta Townhouses at 6th & Orange are moving along, they are going to be a quite a welcome addition to the neighborhood & especially at that particular corner.
I saw another house for sale on 5th street, listed w/ Crye-Leike.
Someone reported to me that their car was vandalized while parked on 6th st. Has anyone had this problem of late? Let me know if you have: you can contact me @ bnbragsdale@comcast.net

Hey guys, are you as exhausted as I am???  I heard  reports of some nice profits from many on the neighbors, bravo Argenta! We also had a nice turn out at the Cook-out . BUT, from all of this I have learned one thing, I am too old to do a Yard Sale & a cook-out/Block Party on the same day. My vow to you Argenta, is never again! We will have separate events on separate week-ends. Promise.
Hope you all are catching up on some much needed rest, alas I am at work. See ya' at Boosters meeting on Oct 7th!
