another occurance....

It has been reported to me that another disturbing event occurred over the week-end in the ally off the 300 block of 5th. It appears someone threw a rock (or something equally as heavy) through a rear window of a resident's home, as they were sleeping, in the early morning hours on Saturday. Police were called but no one was apprehended.
This is the second such episode in a less than a week and both incidents occurred off the ally between 4th and 5th. Please let me know if you have seen anything suspicious or you are having lighting issues in your ally area. In the near future, we will be taking an early evening walking inventory of street lights, in order to report them to the city.
If you have concerns or have a street light that is out, please contact me @ bnbragsdale@comcast.net

Spring is upon us and the warm weather may stir up mischief, so please be diligent, lock your doors, make sure you shut your windows and lock them before leaving, bring the dog inside, get an alarm if you don't all ready have one and then set it.
I am not advocating you live in paranoia but do try to watch out for unusual activites, like cars driving slowly by as if to be cruising, look after your neighbors property-call the police if you suspect something is not right.  If you are not comfortable calling 911 here is the NLR Police nonemergency number 758-1234.

Argenta Crime Alert. This from the 300 block of W 7th Street

From Scott Miller: (this was copied from Facebook)

Someone tried to kick in my back door around noon today (Thursday) when I was gone. I have exterior alarm and it went off and scared them off. Police came. Door jamb messed up but can still lock my door with deadbolt. Be careful. I was lucky. Policeman asked me if I ha...d a taser and I said "Well, I have a gun." And he said, "That will work."

If anyone has had similar problems let me know, it may be time for another visit to Boosters from Lt.Tyree.

Change of deadline!

If you read my earlier post regarding the fund raising effort for Tayler Lee you will remember the deadline for the T.V. drawing was Feb.20th. Tayler has decided to extend the time in which  to purcahse tickets so they have pushed up the drawing to April 1st. You will now have more time to purchase tickets, help Tayler & possibly win a new 42" Flat screen T.V. Please see contact info as listed below & Good Luck!
Argenta residents Linda, and her son Broderick, Alexander have a family member that is trying to raise funds for a “People to People International Exchange Program” for student ambassadorship to Australia in 2011.

Linda’s granddaughter, Tayler Lee, is a 9th grader at Clarendon high School in Clarendon, AR. Tayler is very excited and optimistic about this life changing opportunity. The individuals selected for this program must be strong of character and academically sound.

One of the conditions of the program is that the candidate has to raise funds for her trip and Tayler is currently seeking financial sponsors. To help her reach her goal Tayler’s church members have donated a 42” Flat Screen T.V. for raffle. The tickets are $2.00 each or a booklet for $20.00. The drawing is now April 1st. If anyone is interested in purchasing these tickets please contact me, Becky Ragsdale @ 376-1127. For further information, sponsorships or just for tickets contact Tayler’s parents at (870) 372-0234.

Please consider helping this Argenta resident’s grandchild fulfill her dream.

Another cold one for the State today, we will see afternoon highs in the lower 30's again. Tonight will be mostly cloudy and cold, southern portions of the State could see snow move in by the early morning hours. Tomorrow will be a another cold one, with a good chance of seeing more snow in the Metro area, we could see a tract to one inch in Little Rock by tomorrow night.
