Gems & Junk/ Block party

Argenta's Neighborhood Boosters Annual Gems & Junk Sale is September 17th from 7am til 1pm. We are asking only for a $5.00 donation to Boosters for covering the cost of advertising. This year we are going to have a map of participants sales locations, once the ad is paid we will place you on the map. If neighbors want to get together for one large sale at an individual location their cost will still only be $5.00. As always, any proceeds from sales goes directly to the seller never to Boosters.
Please feel free to contact me @Bbnbragsdale@comcast.net or 376-1127 to submit your payment or for any questions.

Block Party committee has met & come up wth a unique idea this year. Instead of a block party we are going to have a  Food Drive and Chili Supper. The NLR Salvation Army Pantry is in dire need of supplies. Boosters feels, as a thrivng neighborhood we could step up and help them in their time of need. Dates & times are pending at this time, but we can tell you that it will be in October & hopefully partnered with First Pres. Church at 4th & Maple. As soon as we have all the details worked out you will be the first to know.
In 2012 we plan to have a blow out Block party!!

Mac came home!

Wanted to let everyone know that Mac showed up on our doorstep late last night!! We want to thank the wonderful guys at Allied Printers that made the rescue posters for us, you are my heroes!
We believe that some nice person took Mac in, saw the posters & sent him home. He came back looking fabulous, well nourished & hydrated. If he had been cattin' around for the past 4 days he would have been scruffier.
Toeveryone who kept an eye out for him, for Allied Printing & for who ever set Mac free, we humbly thank you.

Booster's Thursday meeting

Had a good meeting at Booster's this week. Alderman Maurice Taylor was our speaker & wish to thank him for making it even after his car broke down! Thanks Maurice!
We discussed some issues with Maurice, some of which may affect you.
We first discussed trees in the neighborhood & the need for pruning or possible elimination of some tress in city owned areas. We reported to him some of the severe damage left behind as a result of this years storms. We are going to start surveying trees in the neighborhood that may pose a hazard. If you have, or know of a tree, that is questionable to public safety please let us know so it can get on the list for evaluation. My email is: bnbragsdale@comcast.net.
We also discussed the rules pertaining to "Rooming houses", this will be an ongoing issue, discussions are open and will continue. Please email me your concerns or any issues you may be having with a rooming house anywhere in NLR. A rooming house is defined as a house that rents out "rooms" to more than 2 families on a weekly basis.
Last but not least we started discussions on Gems & junk Yard Sale and the yearly Block Party. After Sonja Miller graciously searched the Razorback schedule for this fall we came up with these dates to save.
Gems & Junk Yard sale- Saturday Sept 17th. as always we ask participants to contribute $5.00 towards the ad. Gazette also provides free Garage sale kits.
Block Party- Saturday Oct. 15th from noon-3pm. This year we are also going to have a  Food Drive to benefit the NLR Salvation Army pantry.
We will have our first planning meeting at my house 216 West 6th st on Wednesday July 27th 6:30 p.m. We hope to keep this meeting short but need as many folks to show up as possible.
There is no August Boosters meeting so we will schedule the next planning meeting at the meeting on July 27th.
Remember- Let's Keep Boostering!

Foodie Fest!!

Summertime in Argenta means great food, music, arts and crafts, and the Argenta Foodie Festival. Join the Argenta Arts Foundation and the Argenta Farmers market at the Argenta Summer Foodie Festival celebrating the plentiful growing season in Arkansas.

The festival will take place Saturday, July 2nd, from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm in the Argenta Arts District, downtown North Little Rock, between 6th and 7th Streets across from the Argenta Market and next to the Farmers Market. Admission is free.

The purpose of the Argenta Foodie Festival is to connect people to fresh, healthy, seasonal food and the farmers who grow it. Another reason is to promote our local restaurants, chefs and catering services that support local farmers and understand the importance of creating a sustainable local economy and a strong connection between farm and table.
