On Sunday, May 15, at 5:00, the Argenta Community Garden will host a free one-hour training session on weed and pest control. Gardeners throughout Argenta and from other neighborhoods are welcome to attend. Copied below is information on our instructor, Mary Evans, who is described as "one of the most sought after garden speakers in Arkansas!" The Argenta Community Garden is located at 216 W. 4th Street on the east side of the Junior League House.
BIO FOR MARY EVANS
Lifelong, (self-taught) gardener. Grew up on a chicken farm in northwest Arkansas.
Began working as a floral designer/ florist in 1980.
A Master Gardener in Pulaski County since 1990.
Worked for 10 years in retail nursery as assistant manager/plant buyer.
Arkansas Flower & Garden Show board since 1998, show garden designer.
Garden instructor for Arkansas Extended Learning Center since 1996.
Formed own gardening business “Garden Makeovers” in 2002. Specialize in “makeovers”, but do all kinds of projects, design & installation, maintenance, herbs, perennials, roses, containers, water, habitats, etc.
