LRFF

Film Festival Opens in Argenta

Don't miss the 5th Annual Little Rock Film Festival, the premiere festival for all things Southern, June 1-5.

This year, the Little Rock Film Festival will be held in the Argenta Arts District of downtown North Little Rock and the River Market District of Little Rock.

Highlights include the Opening Night VIP screening of The Last Ride, directed by Arkansas native Harry Thomason, at the Argenta Community Theater and the Oxford American Opening Night Block Party on Main Street in the Argenta Arts District.

Each day the festival is packed with films, panels and workshops. At night the festival showcases some of the best parties on the festival circuit, including the legendary RiverBoat Cruise and the Arkansas Times Closing Night Gala and Awards Ceremony in the Great Hall of the Clinton Presidential Center.

The LRFF showcases the best in narrative, documentary, and short films from around the World with the Oxford American Magazine Award of $10,000 going to the best Southern themed film. Every film in competition at the LRFF makes its Arkansas premiere, and many are regional, national or world premieres. Both Golden Rock Award winners in 2010 went on to be nominated for Oscars.

Festival passes can be purchased online (www.littlerock"lmfestival.org), or purchased at any of the festival's screening venues during the festival. Festival Passes will be available for pick up during the week of the festival (June 1-5, 2011).
